Job summary

Milton Hershey School (MHS) in Hershey, PA, is hiring married couples to serve as Full-time Flex Houseparents. Couples reside in on-campus student homes, providing care, guidance, supervision and support for about 8–13 students to foster growth in academics, emotions, and social skills.

The role starts with nine days on duty followed by three days off, with a pathway to a placed houseparent position. Compensation includes housing, meals, and benefits.

Qualifications

• Experience working or volunteering with youth.
• Two-person role for couples married at least two years.
• Both spouses aged 27 or older.
• No more than three dependent children in the home.
• Commitment to a smoke-free and weapon-free campus; no alcohol on duty.
• Valid U.S. driver’s license and ability to become certified to drive student vans.
• Ability to lead daily devotions and Judeo-Christian Sunday Chapel services.
• High school diploma or GED is required.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Providing daily supervision and mentorship.
• Managing household routines and student schedules.
• Administering medications and ensuring student wellness.
• Driving students to activities and planning developmental and recreational activities.
• Leading daily devotions and accompanying students to Sunday Chapel.
• Overseeing budgeting and household reporting.
