Job summary

Milton Hershey School in Hershey, PA, is hiring married couples as Full-time Flex Houseparents. Couples reside in on-campus homes, supervising and mentoring 8–13 students, following a nine-on/three-off schedule.

The role progresses to Placed Houseparent with continued living arrangement within the same student home. Responsibilities include supervision, routines, medication administration, transportation, and leadership of devotions.

Qualifications

• Experience working or volunteering with youth.
• Two-person role for couples legally married for at least two years.
• Both spouses must be age 27 or older.
• No more than three dependent children may reside in the student home.
• Commitment to a smoke-free and weapon-free campus; no alcohol during duty.
• Pet limitations: only fish and one dog of approved breeds.
• Valid U.S. driver’s license and ability to become certified to drive student home vans.
• Ability to lift to 50 lbs.
• High school diploma or GED required.

Responsibilities

• Providing daily supervision and mentorship.
• Managing household routines and student schedules.
• Administering medications and ensuring student wellness.
• Driving students to activities and engaging in development and recreational activities.
• Leading daily devotions and Sunday Chapel attendance.
• Overseeing budgeting and household reporting.
