Job summary

Milton Hershey School is seeking married couples to serve as Full-time Flex Houseparents on our Hershey, PA campus. You will provide care, guidance, and supervision for 8–13 students in a family-like home environment and support their academic, emotional, and social development.

Initially you will cover nine consecutive days on duty with three days off, then transition to a placed home with the same group of students. A competitive benefits package is provided, including housing and meals.

Qualifications

• Two-person couple married for at least two years.
• Both spouses aged 27 or older.
• High school diploma or GED required.
• Valid U.S. driver’s license and ability to become certified to drive student vans.
• Experience working or volunteering with youth preferred.
• No more than three dependent children may reside in the student home.
• Commitment to a smoke-free and weapon-free campus; no alcohol while on duty.
• Pet limits: fish and one dog of approved breeds allowed.
• Ability to lift to 50 lbs.
• Demonstrated integrity and professionalism; MHS staff serve as role models for students.

Responsibilities

• Provide daily supervision and mentorship for students.
• Manage household routines and student schedules.
• Administer medications and oversee student wellness.
• Drive students to activities and plan developmental/recreational events.
• Lead daily devotions and accompany students to Sunday Chapel.
• Oversee budgeting and household reporting.
• Initially support various student homes on a nine-on/three-off schedule; then transition to a Placed Houseparent role.
• Support student success and campus community engagement.
