Job summary

Milton Hershey School is hiring married couples to serve as Full-time Flex Houseparents. Couples reside in on-campus student homes, providing care, guidance, supervision, and support for ~8–13 students in their home.

The role starts with nine consecutive days on duty followed by three days off, with potential transition to a placed houseparent. Responsibilities include supervision, scheduling, health oversight, daily devotions, and budgeting.

Qualifications

• Experience working or volunteering with youth.
• Two-person couple must be legally married for at least two years.
• Both spouses must be age 27 or older.
• Valid U.S. driver’s license and ability to drive student vans.
• Commitment to a smoke-free and weapon-free campus; no alcohol on duty.
• Pet limitations: fish and one dog of approved breeds.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
• High school diploma or GED required.

Responsibilities

• Provide daily supervision and mentorship to students.
• Manage household routines and student schedules.
• Administer medications and monitor student wellness.
• Drive students to activities and plan developmental/recreational activities.
• Lead daily devotions and accompany students to Sunday Chapel.
• Oversee budgeting and household reporting.
