Job summary

Milton Hershey School (MHS) in Hershey, PA, seeks married couples to serve as Full-time Flex Houseparents. This unique role places couples in on-campus student homes, guiding a group of 8–13 students and creating a safe, family-like environment that supports academic, emotional, and social growth.

Responsibilities include supervising and mentoring, coordinating routines and schedules, administering medications, transporting students to activities, leading daily devotions, and managing household

Qualifications

• Two-person couple must be legally married for at least two years
• Both spouses aged 27 or older
• Valid U.S. driver’s license and ability to become certified to drive student home vans
• High school diploma or GED required
• Commitment to a smoke-free and weapon-free campus; no alcohol permitted while on duty
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
• Demonstrated integrity and professionalism; staff serve as role models for students

Responsibilities

• Providing daily supervision and mentorship
• Managing household routines and student schedules
• Administering medications and ensuring student wellness
• Driving students to activities and planning developmental and recreational activities
• Leading daily devotions and accompanying students to Sunday Chapel
• Overseeing budgeting and household reporting
