Job summary

Milton Hershey School in Hershey, PA seeks married couples to serve as Full-time Flex Houseparents, living on campus and caring for 8–13 students.

You will supervise daily routines, mentor students, manage schedules, administer medications, drive to activities, and lead devotions and Sunday Chapel. The initial schedule is nine days on, three off, with a path to a placed houseparent in a family-like home.

Qualifications

• Experience working or volunteering with youth.
• Two-person role for couples married at least two years.
• Both spouses must be age 27 or older.
• No more than three dependent children in the home.
• Commitment to a smoke-free and weapon-free campus; no alcohol on duty.
• Pet restrictions: fish and one dog allowed.
• Valid U.S. driver’s license and ability to become certified to drive student home vans.
• Comfort leading daily devotions and Judeo-Christian Sunday Chapel (proselytizing prohibited).
• High school diploma or GED required.
• Ability to lift to 50 lbs.
• Demonstrated integrity and professionalism.

Responsibilities

• Providing daily supervision and mentorship for students.
• Managing household routines and student schedules.
• Administering medications and ensuring student wellness.
• Driving students to activities and planning developmental/recreational events.
• Leading daily devotions and accompanying students to Sunday Chapel.
• Overseeing budgeting and household reporting.
• Support multiple student homes initially; transition to placed houseparent with a consistent group of students.
