Job summary

Milton Hershey School in Hershey, PA, seeks full-time, married couples to serve as Flex Houseparents, living in on-campus student homes and guiding 8–13 youths daily. The role combines supervision, scheduling, devotional leadership, and activities planning within a structured family-like setting.

Starting schedule is nine days on, three off, with potential progression to a placed houseparent. Benefits include health coverage, retirement options, relocation assistance, and paid training.

Qualifications

• Experience working or volunteering with youth.
• Two-person role for legally married couples (at least two years).
• Both spouses must be age 27 or older.
• No more than three dependent children may reside in the student home.
• Valid U.S. driver's license and ability to become certified to drive student home vans.
• High school diploma or GED required.
• Ability to lift to 50 lbs.
• Smoke-free and weapon-free campus; no alcohol while on duty.
• Pet restrictions: fish and one dog of approved breeds allowed.

Responsibilities

• Providing daily supervision and mentorship
• Managing household routines and student schedules
• Administering medications and ensuring student wellness
• Driving students to activities and planning developmental and recreational activities
• Leading daily devotions and accompanying students to Sunday Chapel
• Overseeing budgeting and household reporting
• Support various student homes on a nine-on/three-off schedule; transition to placed Houseparent.
