Job summary

A quality home care company located on the North Fork of Long Island is seeking dedicated Companions to provide companionship and assist in daily living activities for elderly clients. The ideal candidates will be compassionate, supportive, and willing to work flexible hours, including weekends. Experience in companion or in-home care is preferred. Qualifications

  • Minimum of 1 year experience in companion care or in-home care.
  • Physical capability to lift/move up to 20 pounds.
  • Available to work 7 days a week or per-diem.

Responsibilities

  • Provide companionship for elderly patients and assist with their daily living activities.
  • Remind clients about medication and help with mobility.
  • Perform housekeeping tasks and respond promptly in emergencies.

Responsibilities

  • Provide companionshipfor elderly patients or those recovering from surgeries, injuries or accidents by attending to their basic needs, meal preparation, light housekeeping, medication reminders, and assistance with non-medicaldaily living activities.

  • Remindclients to take prescribed medication and provide safety oversight with ambulation

  • Ensure safe mobility around the house or outside (doctor’s appointments, walks etc.)

  • Complete client’s shopping or accompany them to successfully do so

  • Perform housekeeping duties and report any unusual incidents

  • Act quickly and responsibly in cases of emergency

  • Offer activities that areessential for daily living by assisting patients with their meals, including serving and other tasks, if necessary

Qualifications

  • Enjoy working in a one-on-one setting, eager to improve and continuously learn new skills

  • Ability to lift and/or move up to 20pounds with physical capability to perform job-related duties

  • Validated ability to act in a compassionate and supportive manner

  • Available to work 7 days per week or per-diem

  • Prior experience in a companion care, hospitality, or in-home care environment (minimum of 1 year)

  • Willingness to enforce health and safety standards

  • Supportive and compassionate

  • High School Diploma or equivalent/Experience as a Caregiver

  • Take pride in providing high quality care

  • Lift Experience (specific to client)
