Job summary

Affordable Housing Alliance Inc in Keansburg, NJ is seeking a part-time Caretaker to manage day-to-day operations at Viking House. The role serves as the primary point of contact for tenants and vendors, coordinates basic maintenance requests, and ensures compliance with building rules and safety standards.

This live-in position includes an efficiency unit and a bi-weekly $200 stipend, with duties ranging from cleaning and lawn care to inventory tracking, emergency reporting, and maintaining

Qualifications

• One year of experience in dwelling maintenance.
• Valid New Jersey Driver’s license.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and climb stairs.
• Hours are on call/as needed.

Responsibilities

• Meets with vendors and visitors to provide site access as appropriate.
• Responds to minor maintenance problems and reports major concerns to the Director of Property Management.
• Prepares vacant rooms for new tenants and ensures rooms meet occupancy standards.
• Maintains inventory of cleaning supplies, maintenance tools, and other items.
• Responds to emergencies and coordinates with staff or authorities as needed.
• Oversees snow removal and salting of sidewalks and exterior surfaces.
• Performs cleaning of bathrooms, hallways and common areas and maintains building records.
