Job summary

Home Helpers Home Care in Des Plaines, IL is seeking a dependable, compassionate caregiver to provide one-on-one care for a client living with dementia. The role starts immediately and requires experience with dementia and a commitment to confidentiality.

Responsibilities include assisting activities of daily living, following an individualized care plan, documenting care notes in our mobile app, and communicating with family and the Home Helpers office.

Qualifications

• Previous dementia caregiving experience.
• Previous home care, caregiving, or CNA experience.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Reliable personal vehicle with current auto insurance.
• Ability to pass a criminal background check.
• Authorized to work in the U.S.

• Provide compassionate, one-on-one care and companionship.
• Assist activities of daily living as needed.
• Provide reassurance, patience, and supervision appropriate for a client with dementia.
• Follow the client's individualized plan of care.
• Complete daily care notes and documentation using our mobile app.
• Communicate professionally with the client, family, and Home Helpers office.
• Observe and report changes in the client's condition or behavior to the office, as appropriate.
• Assist with light housekeeping and other non-medical caregiving duties as needed.

This position is available for an immediate start and is a great opportunity for an experienced caregiver who enjoys providing one-on-one care and is comfortable working with a client living with dementia.

Position Details

• Location: Des Plaines, IL
• Start Date: Immediate
• Schedule: Saturday 12pm – Tuesday 12pm
• Dementia experience is required
