Job summary

Home Helpers is seeking compassionate Live-In Caregivers to support seniors at clients’ homes in the Des Plaines area. You’ll provide companionship, assist with daily living activities, meals, and light housekeeping, following each client’s care plan.

We value dependability and empathy and offer paid training, bonuses, and a supportive office team as you build meaningful relationships with clients in their own homes.

Qualifications

• Previous home care, caregiving, or CNA experience.
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation when required.
• Authorized to work in the U.S.
• High school diploma or GED.
• Willingness to complete state-mandated caregiver training.

Responsibilities

• Provide companionship and emotional support.
• Assist with personal care, including bathing, dressing, and toileting.
• Help with mobility and activities of daily living.
• Prepare meals and assist with light housekeeping and laundry.
• Follow the client's individualized plan of care.
• Complete daily care notes using a mobile app; observe and report changes.

Responsibilities (Will vary by client)

• Provide companionship and emotional support
• Assist with personal care, including bathing, dressing, and toileting
• Help with mobility and activities of daily living
• Prepare meals and assist with light housekeeping and laundry
• Follow the client's individualized plan of care
• Complete daily care notes using our mobile appObserve and report changes in the client's condition to the office

• Adaptable to different client needs and care routines

Minimum Requirements

• Previous home care, caregiving, or CNA experience
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation when required for the assignment
• Current auto insurance when driving is required
• Ability to pass a criminal background check
• Authorized to work in the U.S.
• High school diploma or GED
• Reliable smartphone with internet access and an active email account
• Willingness to complete all applicable state-mandated caregiver training courses (if not already completed) and maintain required training
• Ability to assist with activities of daily living, including standing, walking, lifting, and transferring, as needed
• Ability to communicate professionally and maintain client confidentiality
