Job summary

Visiting Angels of Southern Shenandoah Valley is seeking a Live-In Care Specialist in Harrisonburg, VA. You will provide assistance with daily activities, meals, light housekeeping, and transportation to appointments, while offering warm companionship to local seniors.

The role requires compassionate, patient care in a one-on-one setting. A high school diploma or equivalent and PCA/CNA certification are preferred, with a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• PCA (personal care aide), Nurse Aide Course Completion Certificate, or CNA (certified nursing assistant) license.
• Prior experience in a healthcare, hospitality, or in-home care environment (minimum of 1 year) preferred.
• Enjoy working in a one-on-one setting, eager to improve and continuously learn new skills.
• Ability to perform all essential job functions with or without accommodations.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation every single day.
• Auto Insurance
• Validated ability to act in a compassionate and supportive manner.
• Available to work different shifts, including nights and/or weekends.
• Willingness to enforce health and safety standards.

• Hoyer Lift Experience (specific to client)

Responsibilities

• Provide assistance with ADLs and iADLs to clients, meal preparation, light housekeeping, transportation to and from appointments, assist with errands, and warm companionship.
• Offer separate sleeping quarters and bathroom arrangements while working on live-in cases.
• Meals provided during live-in arrangements.
• Ensure safety and comfort of clients in their home environment.
