Job summary

Broadcast Management Group in the New York City area seeks an on-air Graphics Operator to manage production graphics for daily live shows. You will create lower thirds, bugs, charts, and full-screens in the Adobe system and test elements before air.

You will maintain equipment, tag inventory, manage drives, support control room tasks, and collaborate with producers and directors to ensure smooth broadcasts.

Qualifications

• Must have experience building production graphics for live broadcast.
• Must have 3+ years’ experience with the Ross Xpression system.
• Must have experience working in a live broadcast environment.
• Must have live production experience in sports, news, and entertainment.
• Experience developing graphics for various delivery devices.
• Proficiency with HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
• Proficiency with desktop publishing tools, including Photoshop, InDesign, QuarkXPress, After Effects, and Illustrator.
• A strong eye for visual design and composition.
• Effective time management skills and the ability to meet deadlines.
• Understanding of marketing, production, website design, corporate identity, product packaging, advertisements, and multimedia design
• Experience with computer-aided design
• 5+ years of relevant experience

Responsibilities

• Work closely with Executive Producer, Producers, Technical Director, Operations Manager
• Graphics creation (general and specific, charts and graphs, etc.)
• Track playback during the show
• Maintain the lower third of a TV screen during production
• Cue, play and mix pre-recorded sound during production
• Run teleprompter during production
• Create transcriptions
• Post-production of all captions
• Light editing in post-production using Adobe Premiere
• Assist in control room ingest process for studio content
• Offload remote field shoots and execute file transfers
• Coordinate with content groups on footage requests
• Prepare studio assets and operate playback for live studio production
• Assist in organization, asset metadata tagging and troubleshooting
• Check out and keep inventory of hard drives and SD cards
