The Waldorf School of Pittsburgh (WSP) is accepting applications for an Assistant Teacher in the Little Friends program for the 2025–2026 school year. The Little Friends school year runs from late August (or early September) through mid June. The program is open 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., Monday through Friday and observes the breaks and holidays of the WSP calendar.
Established in 1993, Waldorf School of Pittsburgh is a mature Waldorf school serving about 200 students each year, committed to equity, and looking to diversify our staff. Our mission is to foster each child’s capacity to become an independent thinking, compassionate, courageous, and purposeful human being.
WSP offers a childcare program, parent child program, Nursery and Kindergarten classes and 1st through 8th grade classes. We are a Member of WECAN and accredited through AWSNA and PAIS. We have a cohesive, strong faculty and administration, an active parent body, and a supportive Board of Trustees.
This early childhood program for young children includes plenty of outdoor play in all weather, domestic activities, the daily prepping and cooking of meals, singing, storytelling, toileting and diapering. The Assistant Teacher will assist the Lead Teacher in caring for 6 children ages 18 months to 3 years of age.
Applicants must possess a high school diploma and have two years of verifiable work with children or a B.A. in Education or a related field. Federal, State, Child abuse, and NSOR clearances are required upon hire. We are accepting applications until the position is filled.
Benefits include 30% tuition remission (except Little Friends), and 100% discount on Extended Care program for enrolled children. Paid snow and delay days as well as paid personal days. Lunch is provided for staff in the Little Friends program.
