Leidos is seeking a Law Clerk II in Washington, DC to support the U.S. Department of Justice with complex litigation tasks, including drafting motions and reviewing documents for relevance and privilege.

The role offers exposure to all facets of the organization and a fast-paced environment. The ideal candidate has a law degree or is a current ABA-accredited student with at least two years of study, plus 2+ years of litigation support experience and mastery of Lexis/Westlaw, able to deliver

Qualifications

• Requires Law degree, or currently attending an ABA-accredited law school, having completed at least two years of study or equivalent level of education.
• Additionally, must have 2+ years of progressively more responsible experience on litigation support projects or task order related projects including proven capabilities and communication skills to interact with clients and attorneys.
• Requires sound working knowledge of federal and state court systems, legal research procedures, and legal research resources.
• Thorough knowledge of legal research tools such as LEXIS and Westlaw.
• Must have hands-on familiarity with word processing, databases (such as document review and file management systems), spreadsheets, and imaging.
• Role also requires hands-on familiarity with ESI tools and knowledge of eDiscovery procedures and resources.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Excellent analytical skills.
• Ability to consistently deliver highest quality work under extreme pressure will be very important.
• Must be a U.S. Citizen and able to obtain a Public Trust clearance.

Responsabilités

• Works under the direction of a Supervisory Paralegal or Project Manager performing complex legal research.
• Preparing draft legal documents, such as motions, briefs, memoranda of law, etc.
• Reviewing documents for relevance and privilege.
• Assisting attorneys with all phases of litigation.
• Acts independently and/or as a team leader on larger projects.
• Responsibilities may include acting as primary interface with trial attorneys, experts, and other client staff.
• Assists in drafting of Program's decisions. In many claims, the Program's decision sets the foundation for subsequent administrative and judicial review.
• Reviewing documents for relevance and privilege.
• Demonstrated ability to discern the relevant issues in complex fact patterns.
