Job summary

Leidos is seeking a Paralegal Specialist - Trial Support to join the Litigation Support Team in downtown Los Angeles, supporting the U.S. Department of Justice. The role involves advanced legal research, eDiscovery, and preparing litigation materials for federal cases.

Ideal candidates have 2+ years of litigation paralegal experience, familiarity with Lexis/Westlaw, and the ability to obtain a Public Trust clearance. Overtime and travel may be required as needed.

Qualifications

• Paralegal certificate or JD or in ABA-accredited program with 1 year of study remaining
• 2+ years of litigation paralegal or related project experience
• At least 1 year of automated litigation support experience
• Strong knowledge of federal/state courts and research procedures
• Familiarity with Lexis and Westlaw
• Proficient with document management, spreadsheets, imaging, and hardware
• US Citizenship and ability to obtain Public Trust clearance

Responsibilities

• Conduct specialized legal research and writing for criminal or civil matters
• Use automated resources for case research and electronic discovery
• Assist in referrals, ensure compliance with agency standards, support attorneys
• Draft correspondence and proposed orders for attorney review
• Assist in pretrial discovery, manage witnesses, organize exhibits
