Job summary

TopDog Law, a nationally scaling personal injury firm, is seeking a Litigation Paralegal who owns the client relationship from intake through case management and beyond. You will assist attorneys by reviewing records, drafting filings, and coordinating with clients and insurers to move cases forward.

This fully remote role requires 3–7 years of PI support, strong organization, and the ability to manage a high-volume caseload while upholding ethics and confidentiality.

Responsibilities

• Assist attorneys in reviewing and assessing the merits of clients’ Personal Injury claims by organizing, reviewing, and summarizing records, documents, and evidence to support case evaluation and valuation.
• Draft pleadings, discovery, motions, correspondence, and other legal documents; prepare filings and ensure timeliness.
• Conduct legal research and summarize medical records to support case strategies and negotiations.
• Serve as primary contact for clients regarding case status and document requests.
• Manage discovery, prepare exhibit lists, coordinate depositions, and assist with trial and hearing preparation.

The Opportunity

People come to TopDog Law at one of the hardest moments of their lives: injured, overwhelmed, and unsure of what comes next. The Litigation Paralegal exists to be that person, a dedicated advocate who owns the client relationship completely and ensures no one ever feels like just a file number. What You Will Own

• Assist attorneys in reviewing and assessing the merits of clients’ Personal Injury claims by organizing, reviewing, and summarizing records, documents, and evidence to support case evaluation and valuation
• Support attorneys in Personal Injury matters by drafting pleadings, discovery, motions, correspondence, and other legal documents. Prepare filings, coordinate service, and ensure accuracy and timeliness in all submissions
• Assist in the development and execution of case strategies by conducting legal research, summarizing medical records, organizing evidence, preparing demand packages, and supporting negotiations with insurance carriers
• Serve as a primary point of contact for clients regarding case status, document requests, and procedural updates, maintaining professional, consistent, and compassionate communication throughout the life of the case
• Support litigation efforts by managing discovery, preparing exhibit lists, organizing trial binders, coordinating depositions, and assisting with trial and hearing preparation
• Organize and maintain case files, track deadlines and statutes, update case management systems, and coordinate with internal teams, experts, and external vendors to ensure smooth case progression
• Demonstrating a strong knowledge of liens, including Medicare and ERISA
• Uphold professional ethics, confidentiality, and compliance with all applicable legal rules, firm policies, and regulatory requirements

What You Bring

Required

• A minimum of 3–7 years of experience supporting attorneys in personal injury matters on cases in Illinois, not only pre-litigation experience.
• Strong organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail
• Ability to manage a high-volume caseload in a fast-paced environment
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Experience reviewing and summarizing medical records
• Ability to prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and work independently while collaborating with a team

Preferred (Nice to Have)

• Bachelor’s degree or Paralegal Certificate
• Experience in high-volume or fast-growing law firms
• Familiarity with Illinois court rules and procedures
• Experience with case management software (e.g., Filevine, Clio, SmartAdvocate)
• Comfort working in evolving systems and processes
• Bilingual in the Spanish language

What We Offer

• Base Salary: $70,00 to $90,000 commensurate with experience
• Our job postings reflect the compensation range for the specific market and location of each role. Ranges vary by geography based on local market rates and cost of labor.
