Job summary

Butler Snow LLP in Austin, TX is seeking an experienced Litigation Paralegal to join our team on-site. You will support attorneys with drafting pleadings, notices, depositions, and discovery, while coordinating deadlines and trial prep.

Ideal candidates have 3–5 years of paralegal experience, a paralegal certificate or undergrad degree, and strong Microsoft Office and Westlaw skills, with attention to detail and collaboration.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of paralegal experience.
• Paralegal certificate or undergraduate degree.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Mastery of Microsoft Office Suite including Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
• Experience capturing and recording billable time.
• High degree of detail and client focus.
• Experience reviewing and summarizing records.
• Ability to work independently or collaboratively in a team.
• Drive and personal initiative.

Responsibilities

• Drafts correspondence, pleadings, discovery, motions and orders (simple to complex).
• Drafts notices of deposition, appearance notices, and subpoenas for deposition or trial or documents.
• Schedules and maintains depositions and court-imposed deadlines.
• Familiarity with State and Federal Rules of Civil Procedure.
• Lays in-depth legal research using Westlaw and public records.
• Files pleadings, including ECF.
• Assists attorneys with discovery requests.
• Assists attorneys with trial preparation.
• Other duties as assigned by attorneys or Director of Practice Support.
