Job summary

Greenberg Traurig, LLP seeks a Litigation Paralegal for its Orange County, CA office to support attorneys from case inception through post-trial. You will manage documents, assist with discovery, and help prepare trial materials with precision and professionalism.

The ideal candidate has a Bachelor’s degree, a Paralegal certification, and at least 15 years in litigation paralegal roles, with strong IT and research skills. Occasional off-site trial support is expected.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree required; Paralegal studies certification preferred; equivalent experience considered.
  • Certified Paralegal credential required.
  • Minimum of 15 years as a Litigation Paralegal in a law firm.
  • Excellent computer skills and ability to learn new software quickly.
  • Trial experience including exhibit prep and witness coordination.

Responsibilities

  • Assist attorneys in all stages of litigation from onset through post-trial.
  • Organize and maintain documents and case materials for efficiency.
  • Support discovery: prepare, propound, respond to written discovery; prep for expert discovery.
  • Conduct document reviews and track review progress and results.
  • Prepare witness interview memoranda; summarize deposition and court transcripts.
  • Perform basic legal research using Westlaw/Lexis; locate cases and statutes.
  • Assist with law and motion; assemble pleadings and ensure proper filing and service.
  • Draft common pleadings, motions, notices and court filings.
  • Coordinate trial preparations: create notebooks, organize exhibits, schedule witnesses.

Position Summary

The Litigation Paralegal position will provide organizational and practice specific assistance to attorneys in the Department in preparing cases from onset through post trial, including related research and analysis. Qualified candidates demonstrate professionalism, attention to detail, and ability to handle multiple priorities and work in an organized, efficient manner. Candidate should also be flexible to work overtime as needed.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assists attorneys in in all stages of litigation cases from onset through post-trial
  • Oversees organization, maintenance and appropriate utilization of documents and other case-related materials, including maintenance of client-presentable and efficient work areas and case rooms
  • Assists and manages with the discovery process, prepares for depositions, propounds and responds to written discovery and prepares for expert discovery
  • Oversees and conducts document reviews and document productions; prepares documentation regarding criteria changes; tracks and reports on review progress and results
  • Performs analytical tasks, prepares witness interview memoranda, reviews and summarizes documents, deposition, court transcripts and creating and using substantive coding tools
  • Assists with basic legal research, including locating cases, statutes and regulatory materials; conduct fact research on internet and private search engines, such as Westlaw and Lexis
  • Assists with law and motion practice, assembles motion papers and exhibits, coordinates filings of pleadings and briefs and ensuring proper service
  • Drafts common pleadings, motions, notices and other court filings
  • Ensure compliance with federal and state rules of procedure and evidence for document format, content, filing, etc.Performs and oversees both simple and complex authority and fact cite-checking; confirms case quotes, proofreads briefs and other legal documents
  • Assists and manages trial preparations, creates trial notebooks, identifies and organizes exhibits, coordinates witness schedules, maintains trial calendars and communicates effectively with opposing counsel and courtroom staff
  • Assists in preparation of post-trial filings including briefing, motions for costs and sanctions, etc. and organize the case for appeal if necessary
  • Maintains timely and accurate timekeeping records on a daily basis
  • Assists with other department activities as needed, and performs additional duties and responsibilities as assigned

  • Excellent client service skills and ability to work on multiple matters simultaneously in an organized manner and under minimal supervision
  • Skilled at drafting clear and concise memoranda, detailed fact summaries, pleadings and other documents
  • Flexibility and ability to respond quickly and positively to shifting demands
  • Position periodically requires off-site work at a war room or the courthouse when the case goes to trial
Education & Prior Experience
  • Bachelor’s Degree required, Certificate in Paralegal studies from an accredited institution preferred; equivalent experience considered
  • Certified Paralegal required
  • Minimum of 15 years of experience as a Litigation Paralegal within a law firm with demonstrated knowledge of complex issues within the Litigation practice area
  • Exceptional computer skills with the ability to learn new software applications quickly
  • Trial experience, including exhibit preparation, witness preparation and management, knowledge of subpoena preparation, experience working with judicial assistants and trial presentation vendors, experience assisting attorneys in the courtroom
Technology
  • Computer proficiency in Windows-based software and Microsoft Office Suite applications including Word, PowerPoint, Excel and Outlook, as well as document management
  • Proficiency with E-filing and litigation support applications such as Relativity, Opus 2 and Adobe Acrobat
  • Understanding of AI capabilities, limitations, and responsible use in a professional environment
  • Familiarity with, or willingness to learn, firm-approved AI tools (e.g., Copilot, ChatGPT, or similar platforms) to support daily workflow and/or improve work quality

The expected pay range for this position is:

$57.81 to $72.15 per hour

Actual pay will be adjusted based on experience, location, and other job-related factors permitted by law.
