Job description

With offices in Atlanta, Macon, and Warner Robins, McArthur Law Firm has spent more than 15 years advocating for people harmed by the negligence of others. Our team handles serious personal injury and wrongful death matters, including motor vehicle collisions, trucking accidents, medical malpractice, and nursing home abuse. We pair determined advocacy with personal attention, thoughtful communication, and a deep commitment to the people we serve.

The Opportunity

This role is central to the preparedness of our attorneys, the progress of our cases, and the experience of our clients. The successful candidate will confidently manage a litigation caseload from intake through resolution or trial, anticipate next steps, and bring sound judgment, accuracy, and calm follow-through to a fast-moving practice. This specific role is for our Macon office.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage assigned personal injury cases from inception through resolution or trial, maintaining organized, accurate, and current files.
  • Serve as a consistent and compassionate point of contact for clients, responding promptly to calls, emails, and correspondence and providing meaningful case updates.
  • Schedule and participate in new-client appointments; open files and prepare notices, letters of representation, and related correspondence.
  • Assist with factual investigation and case development, including obtaining damages information, interviewing witnesses, and coordinating Open Records Act requests.
  • Request, track, and organize medical records and billing; prepare medical chronologies and settlement-demand packages.
  • Draft pleadings, lawsuits, discovery requests and responses, subpoenas, motions, and other litigation documents for attorney review; coordinate filing and service in Georgia state and federal courts.
  • Maintain litigation calendars and independently track statutes, discovery deadlines, depositions, hearings, mediations, trials, and attorney action items.
  • Coordinate depositions and prepare attorneys, witnesses, exhibits, binders, and supporting materials for depositions, hearings, mediations, and trials.
  • Track liens and subrogation interests and support timely resolution efforts as matters approach mediation or settlement.
  • Maintain clear case-status reporting, identify potential delays or risks, and communicate proactively with the assigned attorney and team.
  • Provide hands‑on support during trial and assist with post-resolution file closure and final documentation.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
  • Minimum of five years of legal experience; personal injury litigation experience strongly preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of the litigation lifecycle, court procedures, discovery, and deadline management.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, sound judgment, and a client-centered approach.
  • Familiarity with medical terminology and the ability to organize and synthesize medical records.
  • Exceptional organization, prioritization, and follow-through, with the ability to produce accurate work under competing deadlines.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and comfort learning and working within legal case-management and electronic filing systems.
  • A collaborative, professional mindset marked by initiative, accountability, discretion, and respect.
  • Competitive base salary, commensurate with experience.
  • Firm-paid health, dental, vision, long-term disability, and group term life insurance.
  • Optional short-term disability, voluntary life insurance, and living benefits available at employee cost.
  • Profit-sharing and safe harbor 401(k) plans.
  • Competitive paid time off and sick leave.
  • Annual bonus and salary review, subject to performance.
  • Meaningful opportunities for professional growth and advancement.
