Qualifications

  • Currently enrolled in an accredited J.D. program.
  • Strong legal research, analytical, and problem‑solving skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
  • Demonstrated attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple assignments, prioritize deadlines, and work in a fast‑paced environment.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise sound professional judgment.
  • Experience with legal research platforms and legal writing.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365 (Word, Outlook, Excel) and Adobe Acrobat.
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating with attorneys and staff.
  • Strong initiative, professionalism, and commitment to client service.
  • Interest in litigation, employment law, and trial advocacy.
  • Experience with case management software or document management systems is a plus.
  • Previous judicial internship, mock trial, moot court, law review, or litigation clinic experience preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct in-depth legal research on case law, statutes, and regulations relevant to ongoing litigation matters.
  • Analyze and summarize legal information to assist attorneys in building strong case strategies.
  • Assist in drafting legal documents, including pleadings, motions, and discovery requests.
  • Prepare and organize exhibits, affidavits, and other supporting documents for court filings.
  • Research and assist on complex employment law issues, including discrimination, harassment, wage/hour disputes, and employee benefits.
  • Work closely with attorneys to manage case files and ensure deadlines are met.
  • Assist with contract review and negotiation for employment contracts, severance agreements, and related documents.
  • Maintain organized and up‑to‑date electronic and physical case files.
  • Prepare and file court documents, ensuring compliance with procedural requirements.
  • Monitor court dockets and deadlines to keep the team informed and prepared.
  • Communicate with clients, opposing counsel, and court personnel as directed by attorneys.
  • Assist in preparing correspondence and communication related to litigation matters.
  • Provide general support to attorneys during trial preparation and court proceedings.
  • Assist in deposition summaries and trial exhibits preparation.
  • Apply analytical skills to identify and resolve issues with recommended solutions.
  • Draft engagement letters and assist with client invoicing and expense recovery.
  • Complete special projects and other related duties as assigned.

Job description

Fast-paced, growing law firm seeks a Law Clerk to provide legal support with a focus on litigation and employment law. As a Law Clerk specializing in litigation and employment, you will play a crucial role in supporting our attorneys in various aspects of legal research, document preparation, and case management.   • Assist in the preparation of deposition summaries and trial exhibits.
  • Apply analytical skills to identify and assist in resolving issues; proactively suggest appropriate solutions and recommendations to enhance final work product.
  • Draft engagement letters and assist with client invoicing and expense recovery.
  • Complete special projects, and other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
  • Currently enrolled in an accredited Juris Doctor (J.D.) program.
  • Strong legal research, analytical, and problem‑solving skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
  • Demonstrated attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple assignments, prioritize competing deadlines, and work in a fast‑paced environment.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise sound professional judgment.
  • Experience with legal research platforms and legal writing.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365 (Word, Outlook, Excel) and Adobe Acrobat.
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with attorneys and support staff.
  • Strong initiative, professionalism, and commitment to client service.

Compensation:
  • $25.00 Hourly
