Job Overview

Position: Litigation Finance Private Credit Associate

Location: New York, NY (Hybrid)

Company: Leading private credit firm with over $5B AUM, expanding in litigation finance

Key Responsibilities
  1. Support (Associate) or lead (VP) the end-to-end investment process in litigation finance, including sourcing, diligence, underwriting, structuring, and execution.
  2. Conduct credit analysis, legal diligence, and risk assessment on complex claims and assets.
  3. Develop financial models and valuation analyses related to litigation outcomes and structured finance.
  4. Collaborate with legal teams, claimholders, and outside counsel to evaluate investment merits and risks.
  5. Monitor portfolio positions, manage case developments, and assist with reporting.
  6. Work with the broader credit team on crossover deals and bespoke structures.
Ideal Candidate Background
  1. 2-5 years of experience for Associate; 5-8 years for VP.
  2. Experience in litigation finance, opportunistic credit, structured/specialty finance, or private equity-style credit preferred.
  3. Familiarity with legal processes, courts, and arbitration frameworks is a plus.
  4. Strong analytical, modeling skills, and comfort with complex deal structures.
  5. JD not required, but legal transaction experience is valued.
  6. Entrepreneurial mindset with strong communication and project management skills.
