Job summary
The Saint Louis-based law firm is seeking an Insurance Defense Attorney with 3-5 years of civil litigation experience to join its growing practice.
The role involves handling matters from investigation to resolution, drafting pleadings and motions, conducting depositions, and appearing in court, with opportunities for professional development and courtroom exposure. Candidates with workers' compensation, personal injury, or medical malpractice exposure are welcome.
Qualifications
- J.D. from an accredited law school.
- 3-5 years of civil litigation experience (insurance defense experience preferred but not required).
- Strong legal research, writing, and analytical skills.
- Excellent communication and time-management abilities.
- Active Missouri Bar membership (preferance to obtain Illinois Licensure).
Responsibilities
- Manage litigation matters from initial investigation through resolution.
- Draft pleadings, discovery, motions, and briefs.
- Conduct and defend depositions.
- Appear in court for hearings, conferences, and trials.
- Communicate with clients on case strategy, risk assessment, and developments.
- Collaborate with partners, paralegals, and experts to drive cases forward.
