Job summary

Common Cause seeks a Counsel, Litigation to lead its litigation and advocacy work across Voting & Fair Representation, Anti-Corruption & Accountability, Media & Technology, and Civil Rights & Civil Liberties. You will collaborate with external counsel, pro bono firms, and clients across the pro-democracy space.

This full-time role reports to the Vice President, Litigation and is based in Washington, DC, with in-office presence required at least two days per week. Start anticipated in October.

Qualifications

• Experience leading complex advocacy litigation.
• Proven ability to manage multiple cases and deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Lead litigation and advocacy efforts with strategic planning and stakeholder engagement.
• Oversee day-to-day case management and coordination of discovery timelines.
• Develop and pursue creative litigation opportunities with partners and pro bono firms.
• Handle administrative actions, regulatory comments, and open records requests.
