gpac is representing a mid-sized education law firm seeking an experienced Litigation Attorney in California to handle complex civil litigation from initiation to resolution, including arbitration, mediation, or trial.

The ideal candidate will bring strong case management, leadership, and superb writing and research skills, with flexibility to cover a broad range of matters for public entities. Hybrid schedule with collaborative training and resources is offered.

Job description

A mid-sized education law firm with a 50-year history and a statewide practice is looking for an experienced Litigation Attorney. The firm has about 55 attorneys and represents school and community college districts across California. If you'd like to join a team that supports the education of students in California, this could be the role for you.

This is a niche and evolving area of law with little precedent, so the work is research- and writing-driven rather than template-based. The firm is collaborative and works like a larger firm in its training, mentoring, and resources, while offering better work-life balance. Attorneys coming from big firms have done especially well here.

The schedule is hybrid and flexible. There are no set office days; you come in when meetings require it.

Requirements

• 7+ years of litigation experience

Compensation and benefits:

The billable target is 1,850 hours. Bonuses are paid quarterly for meeting billables, plus an annual discretionary bonus. Benefits include health, dental, and vision insurance, a 401(k) with matching and profit sharing, sick and vacation time, and paid holidays.
