Job summary

Jobot is seeking a Litigation Attorney with a focus on Employment Practices Liability for a hybrid remote role in Chicago, IL. The candidate will defend insureds and employers across professional lines matters and handle all phases of litigation from inception to resolution.

Ideal candidates have at least 5 years of insurance defense experience, Illinois Bar admission, and strong written communication skills for carrier reporting. A path to partnership exists for the right candidate.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of insurance defense experience with a professional lines focus.
• Strong written communication skills; carrier reporting is a core function.
• Defense side only—no plaintiff, no in-house, no carrier-side candidates.
• Federal court experience a plus.

Responsibilities

• Defend a varied caseload of professional lines matters with an EPL focus.
• Handle all phases of litigation from inception through resolution, including pleadings, discovery, depositions, motions, mediations, arbitrations, and trial prep.
• Defend insurers, employers, professionals, brokers, real estate brokers, condos, and HOAs against EPL, D&O, and E&O claims.
• Evaluate liability, damages, and exposure; advise carriers and insured clients on strategy, settlements, and resolution.
• Prepare detailed client reports and carrier communications with clarity and precision.
