Swanson, Martin & Bell, LLP is seeking a Litigation Attorney with 3–5 years of experience to support clients in the Madison County, IL region. The ideal candidate will operate from our Chicago office and handle cases across product liability, toxic tort, class-action and mass tort, and medical malpractice.

Qualifications

• The ideal candidate will have overall case management experience, including drafting critical motions, developing written discovery, taking and defending depositions, and participating in court proceedings.
• Trial and appellate experience are valued.

• Maintain strong client relationships with an entrepreneurial mindset to pursue new opportunities in expanding practice areas.

Responsibilities

• Litigate in a variety of practice areas including product liability, toxic tort, class-action and mass tort, and medical malpractice.
• Manage case load and coordinate discovery, filings, and court appearances.
• Draft pleadings, motions, and discovery requests; take and defend depositions.
• Collaborate with partners to represent clients effectively and grow the firm’s practice areas.

The anticipated salary will range between $110,000 and $160,000, commensurate with the candidate’s background and years of experience. Other income opportunities include the availability of discretionary profit-sharing contributions, typically made on an annual basis, and a merit-based discretionary bonus.
