Wintermeyer Ventures in Greenville, SC is seeking a litigator to join a collaborative civil defense team focused on medical malpractice defense, with mentorship to build ownership of cases.

The role handles depositions, court appearances, and drafting motions and briefs, with direct guidance from senior attorneys to develop as a litigator. Eligible candidates have 2–6 years post-bar experience and a SC license.

About the Role

Join a collaborative litigation team handling sophisticated civil matters, primarily medical malpractice defense. You will receive direct mentorship while building the skills and experience to take ownership of cases.

What You'll Do

• Handle medical malpractice defense matters, with opportunities to work on professional liability, employment, and commercial litigation.
• Take depositions and appear in court, progressing toward handling these matters independently.
• Draft motions, briefs, discovery responses, and other trial materials.
• Communicate with clients and manage case progress toward independent case ownership.
• Work closely with an experienced attorney who provides hands‑on mentorship and training.

What We're Looking For

• Two to six years of post-bar litigation experience, with hands‑on experience in motions, discovery, and depositions.
• Active license to practice law in South Carolina.
• Strong legal research and writing skills, demonstrated through a writing sample.
• Experience in civil litigation, ideally in insurance defense, medical malpractice defense, or professional liability. Plaintiff‑side medical malpractice or personal injury experience is also relevant.
• A Juris Doctor from an accredited U.S. law school.
• A collaborative approach, openness to mentorship and constructive feedback, and interest in developing as a litigator.

Compensation & Benefits

The base salary range is $90,000 to $135,000 annually. Visa sponsorship is not available.

Location

This is a full-time, on‑site role in Greenville, South Carolina.
