• Manage discovery workflows, including e-discovery and document review.
• Perform legal research and help shape litigation strategy with senior attorneys.
• Build direct client relationships and contribute to business development as the practice grows.

Job description

We’re partnering with a well-regarded litigation practice in Denver to identify their next Associate Attorney. This firm represents businesses across a wide range of complex commercial disputes and is looking for someone who can take real ownership of a docket from day one.

About the Role

The team handles commercial and business litigation from case inception through trial: contract disputes, business torts, real estate and construction disputes, shareholder and partnership disputes, and complex multi-party matters in Colorado state and federal court. Associates here get direct client contact early, hands-on deposition and motion practice, and a clear path toward managing matters independently rather than staying buried in document review.

Responsibilities

• Manage matters from case inception through resolution, including discovery, motion practice, mediation, and trial preparation
• Draft pleadings, dispositive motions, briefs, and client-facing advisory memos
• Take and defend depositions
• Represent clients in Colorado state and federal court, including hearings, mediations, and arbitrations
• Manage discovery workflows, including e-discovery
• Conduct legal research and help shape litigation strategy alongside senior attorneys
• Build direct client relationships and take part in business development as your practice grows

Qualifications

• J.D. from an accredited law school; active Colorado bar license (or eligibility for admission)
• 3+ years of commercial litigation experience at a law firm or in-house
• Demonstrated experience with one or more of: contract disputes, business torts, real estate or construction disputes, or shareholder matters
• Strong academic credentials and excellent legal writing
• Deposition and court experience strongly preferred
• Ability to manage a caseload independently while working collaboratively with senior attorneys and clients
