Job summary

Witherite Law Group is seeking an experienced Litigation Attorney to join our team in Chicago, IL. The role involves handling a full PI litigation caseload with support from a dedicated team and opportunities to lead a 5+ person litigation group.

The ideal candidate will have 5+ years of PI litigation experience, strong writing and oral advocacy skills, and familiarity with trucking/CMV cases. Competitive salary and comprehensive benefits are provided.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an ABA-accredited law school
• Current member of the Bar in good standing in Illinois or Indiana
• Minimum of 5 years of Personal Injury litigation experience
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Proficiency in Westlaw and Lexis-Nexis
• Ability to analyze complex legal issues and provide effective solutions
• Attention to detail and strong organizational skills
• Trial experience preferred
• Experience litigating trucking and other commercial motor vehicle cases a plus

Responsibilities

• Handle and manage personal injury files from file through trial
• Work up litigation files from filing the lawsuit, writing discovery and depositions, and trying the case
• Willingness and ability to regularly interact with clients, adjusters, staff and other lawyers

Physical Requirements:

• Office environment with normal business hours necessary to satisfactorily perform job functions.
• Stationary Position – Must be able to remain in a stationary position up to 50% of the time.
• Move or Traverse – This position needs to occasionally move about inside the office to access file cabinets, meeting rooms, office machinery, etc.May occasionally ascends/descends the stairs to get to other floors, cafeteria and parking area.
