Job Overview:

A prominent law firm based in Albuquerque, NM, is seeking a skilled Litigation Attorney with experience in real estate, mortgage servicing, and civil litigation. The position focuses on contested matters involving residential property, foreclosure proceedings, and title-related disputes. This opportunity is ideally suited for legal professionals with strong advocacy skills who can manage a litigation caseload independently and travel as needed.

Duties:

1. Handle all stages of litigation related to mortgage servicing and property disputes
2. Provide legal analysis and strategic recommendations to clients
3. Draft legal documents, pleadings, and motions for court filings
4. Conduct discovery, including taking and defending depositions
5. Attend court hearings, mediations, and settlement conferences
6. Manage pre-litigation matters and resolve title issues on residential real estate
7. Maintain accurate case files and meet billable hour expectations
8. Adapt to other responsibilities and assignments as required

Requirements:

• Active license to practice law in California
• Minimum of 2-8 years of experience in litigation, ideally in the real estate or mortgage sectors
• Ability to consistently meet billable targets (e.g., 1920 hours annually)
• Willingness to travel throughout California as needed

Education:

• Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school
• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution

Certifications:

• California Bar membership in good standing

Skills:

• Excellent written and oral advocacy skills
• Proficient in legal research and drafting
• Familiarity with civil litigation procedures and evidentiary rules
• Knowledge of foreclosure processes and consumer protection statutes (e.g., FDCPA) preferred
• Strong organizational and time-management abilities

• Effective in managing multiple priorities and high caseloads
