Duties:
- Handle all stages of litigation related to mortgage servicing and property disputes
- Provide legal analysis and strategic recommendations to clients
- Draft legal documents, pleadings, and motions for court filings
- Conduct discovery, including taking and defending depositions
- Attend court hearings, mediations, and settlement conferences
- Manage pre-litigation matters and resolve title issues on residential real estate
- Maintain accurate case files and meet billable hour expectations
- Adapt to other responsibilities and assignments as required
Requirements:
- Active license to practice law in California
- Minimum of 2-8 years of experience in litigation, ideally in the real estate or mortgage sectors
- Ability to consistently meet billable targets (e.g., 1920 hours annually)
- Willingness to travel throughout California as needed
Education:
- Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution
Certifications:
- California Bar membership in good standing
Skills:
- Excellent written and oral advocacy skills
- Proficient in legal research and drafting
- Familiarity with civil litigation procedures and evidentiary rules
