Job summary

Clyde & Co is seeking an associate with 2–6 years of strong litigation experience to join our Chicago office. The candidate will handle general liability, product liability, premises liability, and catastrophic injury cases, with substantial experience taking and defending depositions, drafting and responding to discovery, and preparing motions and pre-trial documents.

The associate must be proactive, motivated, and organized, with excellent research and writing skills.

Qualifications

• 2–6 years of litigation experience with strong trial readiness.
• Proactive, motivated and organized with excellent research/writing.
• Experience taking/defending depositions and handling discovery.

Responsibilities

• Manage a caseload of 10–20 matters.
• Investigate claims and develop case strategies.
• Draft/respond to discovery and pleadings.
• Review documents for production and legal relevance.
• Conduct Westlaw research and legal brief writing.
• Take and defend depositions; attend hearings.
• Draft pre-trial and trial documents; motions.
• Prepare cases for mediation/trial and participate.
• Provide regular client updates in a professional manner.
