Job summary

Vernis & Bowling’s downtown Ft. Myers office is seeking an Associate Attorney with 2-6 years of litigation experience, preferably in general liability defense.

Upon successful completion of the probationary period, this role offers a hybrid schedule with one remote day per week. You will manage your own caseload and build direct relationships with clients, all while receiving guidance and mentorship from seasoned trial attorneys to ensure growth.

Qualifications

• 2-6 years of active civil litigation experience.
• Admission to the Florida Bar in good standing.
• Exceptional academic credentials coupled with sharp legal writing and analytical skills.
• Strong communication and negotiation skills suited for a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Manage a diverse litigation caseload from inception through resolution.
• Take and defend depositions, conduct site inspections, and attend court hearings.
• Draft, prepare, and respond to discovery and complex motions.
• Assist lead counsel in all phases of trial preparation and execution.
• Cultivate and maintain strong, trusted business relationships with clients.
