Job summary

Wicker Smith's Phoenix office is actively seeking an Associate Attorney to join our litigation teams. The ideal candidate has 2 to 8 years of experience handling general liability and professional liability matters and is prepared to manage complex cases in a collaborative, client-focused environment.

You'll oversee pleadings, discovery, depositions, and motion practice, and represent clients in court, mediations, and arbitrations.

Qualifications

• J.D. from an accredited law school
• 3 to 8 years of experience in general liability and/or professional liability defense preferred
• Active license to practice law in good standing
• Strong analytical, research, and writing skills, with a writing sample required
• Excellent communication and advocacy capabilities
• Highly organized with meticulous attention to detail
• Proven ability to manage multiple cases and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
• Candidates should demonstrate a readiness to take on significant responsibility while being team oriented

Responsibilities

• Manage all aspects of litigation, including pleadings, discovery, depositions, motion practice, and trial preparation.
• Conduct thorough legal research and draft memoranda, pleadings, and motions.
• Represent clients in court appearances, mediations, and arbitrations.
• Communicate effectively with clients, opposing counsel, and insurance carriers.
• Develop litigation strategies in close collaboration with senior attorneys and partners
