Job summary

Confidential Employer in Charleston, SC is seeking a litigation attorney to manage matters from investigation through resolution. You will draft pleadings, motions, and discovery, and participate in hearings, depositions, and mediations. This role requires an active SC Bar license and at least 1 year of litigation experience.

Insurance defense experience is preferred but not required. In-office position with some occasional remote work; competitive benefits, 401(k) match, and paid CLE are

Qualifications

• Active South Carolina Bar license.
• 1+ year of litigation experience.
• Juris Doctor degree from an accredited law school.
• Strong legal research, writing, analytical, and oral communication skills.
• Excellent organization and ability to manage competing deadlines.
• Insurance defense experience is preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Manage litigation matters from initial investigation through case resolution.
• Draft and review pleadings, motions, discovery, settlement agreements, and other legal documents.
• Prepare for and participate in hearings, depositions, mediations, and other litigation proceedings.
• Work closely with clients, attorneys, and industry professionals to develop effective case strategies.
• Conduct legal research and prepare clear, persuasive written work.
• Manage multiple matters, deadlines, and priorities while maintaining strong attention to detail.
• Communicate effectively with clients and legal professionals throughout the life of each case.
• Contribute to a collaborative team environment while taking ownership of assigned matters.
