Job summary

BCG Attorney Search seeks an Associate Attorney for Traverse City, MI to handle a personal caseload across civil litigation, business transactions, real estate, estate planning, probate and employment law. You will work with seasoned attorneys to grow professionally while managing matters from intake to trial.

The role emphasizes strong legal research and writing, proactive communication with clients, and effective negotiation in a supportive team environment.

Qualifications

• JD from ABA-approved law school is required.
• Active Michigan Bar admission in good standing is required.
• 3+ years of litigation experience preferred.
• Excellent legal research and writing skills.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong analytical skills with attention to detail.
• Proficiency in Microsoft 365 and related tools.
• Ability to manage complex caseloads and deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Manage litigation cases from inception to trial.
• Conduct legal research and case preparation.
• Draft and review pleadings, motions, and documents.
• Oversee discovery and depositions.
• Prepare for and represent clients in court.
• Negotiate settlements on behalf of clients.
• Communicate case updates to clients.
• Maintain organized case files and timely follow-up.
• Collaborate with senior attorneys on complex matters.
• Stay updated on applicable laws and regulations.
