Duties
  • Oversee and coordinate all aspects of the discovery process, including drafting discovery requests, reviewing responses, and conducting and defending depositions.
  • Prepare a variety of legal documents such as pleadings, motions, and case summaries.
  • Perform legal research on complex issues related to environmental law, toxic torts, and regulatory compliance.
  • Appear in court for hearings, motion arguments, and other proceedings.
  • Work closely with senior partners to develop litigation strategies and ensure cases progress efficiently.
  • Provide supervision and mentorship to junior associates and legal support staff.
  • Maintain consistent and clear communication with clients, keeping them informed on case status and developments.
  • Review and analyze technical documents, including environmental reports and scientific data, to support case development.
Requirements
  • 1 to 5 years of experience handling civil litigation matters from inception through resolution.
  • Active license to practice law in California.
  • Strong legal writing skills, including the ability to draft persuasive motions and well-organized pleadings.
  • Confident oral advocacy abilities for court appearances and client presentations.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills to handle multiple cases simultaneously.
  • Proficiency with legal research platforms and litigation management tools.
  • Detail-oriented with the ability to review complex documents, including technical and scientific reports.
Education
  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
Certifications
  • An active member in good standing with the State Bar of California.
