Qualifications

  • J.D. from an accredited law school.
  • Admission to the Wisconsin State Bar or eligibility.
  • Three or more years of litigation experience preferred; judicial clerkship considered valuable.
  • Strong legal research, writing, analytical, and case-management skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.

Responsibilities

  • Assist senior attorneys with management and resolution of civil litigation matters.
  • Represent clients in business, real estate, construction, banking, employment, and other disputes.
  • Conduct legal research and prepare memoranda, pleadings, motions, briefs, and other documents.
  • Manage discovery, including drafting and responding to written discovery and preparing for depositions.
  • Attend and participate in depositions, hearings, mediations, and court proceedings.
  • Collaborate with attorneys and legal professionals to develop case strategies and communicate with clients.
  • Develop and maintain professional relationships within the legal and business communities.

Job description

A well-established regional law firm is seeking a motivated and collaborative Litigation Associate Attorney to join its Green Bay, Wisconsin, office. This opportunity is well suited for an attorney who enjoys working on a broad range of civil litigation matters and is interested in building a long-term legal practice within the Green Bay community.

The Litigation Associate will work closely with experienced attorneys and firm leadership to represent established clients across a variety of complex disputes. The role provides meaningful exposure to case strategy, legal research, discovery, negotiations, and courtroom proceedings while also offering opportunities to develop professional relationships and cultivate an individual client base.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist senior attorneys with the management and resolution of a diverse range of civil litigation matters.
  • Represent clients in business, real estate, construction, banking, employment, and other commercial disputes.
  • Conduct comprehensive legal research and prepare memoranda, pleadings, motions, briefs, and other legal documents.
  • Manage various aspects of the discovery process, including drafting and responding to written discovery and preparing for depositions.
  • Attend and participate in depositions, hearings, mediations, court proceedings, and other litigation-related activities.
  • Collaborate with attorneys and legal professionals to develop case strategies and effectively communicate with clients.
  • Provide timely, responsive, and high-quality legal service to established clients.
  • Develop and maintain professional relationships within the legal and business communities.
  • Participate in networking, community involvement, and business development activities designed to cultivate new client relationships.
  • Monitor changes in laws, regulations, and legal precedents relevant to the firm’s litigation practice.
  • Manage multiple cases, assignments, and deadlines while maintaining a high level of organization and attention to detail.
Qualifications
  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Admission to the Wisconsin State Bar or eligibility for admission.
  • Three or more years of litigation experience preferred; judicial clerkship experience will also be considered valuable.
  • Strong legal research, writing, analytical, and case-management skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with attorneys, clients, and professional staff.
  • Demonstrated interest in developing a long-term legal practice and professional network within the Green Bay area.
  • Ability to prioritize competing responsibilities, meet deadlines, and work effectively in a collaborative environment.
  • Strong commitment to client service, professionalism, and ethical legal practice.
Compensation & Benefits
  • Competitive salary of $110,000–$135,000, depending on experience and qualifications.
