Qualifications

• 3–5 years of experience as a licensed attorney.
• Licensed to practice in Illinois; admitted in state and federal courts.
• Excellent communication and writing skills.
• Strong drafting and negotiating skills; able to communicate legal topics to non-attorneys.
• Detail oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Ability to manage workflow independently to meet deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Work with partners in complex commercial litigation matters.
• Meet with clients, draft pleadings, take and defend depositions, requests for discovery, research, motions.
• Draft motions, argue at court appearances, participate in trials and arbitration support.
• Assist with mediations, trials and arbitrations and negotiate settlements.
• Interview witnesses and draft agreements; communicate with clients.

Huck Bouma, PC, a leading western suburban Chicago law firm, has an immediate need at its Wheaton, Illinois location for a Litigation attorney to join its Litigation Department.

Huck Bouma, P.C. seeks an associate for its litigation department with 3-5 years of experience.

• Essential Duties and Performance Responsibilities: work with partners in complex commercial litigation matters, including meeting with clients, drafting pleadings, taking and defending depositions, propounding and responding to discovery, conducting research, writing motions, making court appearances, arguing motions, participating in trials, interviewing witnesses, drafting agreements, negotiating settlements, attending mediations, assisting with trials and arbitrations.

Successful applicants will have:

• *3-5 years of experience as a licensed attorney.


• *Detail oriented with strong drafting and negotiating skills and the ability to communicate legal subject matter to non-attorneys.

• *Ability to manage workflow independently to meet firm deadlines while achieving business and risk management objectives.

Must be licensed in Illinois and admitted to practice in both state and federal court.

Salary commensurate with experience.
