Job summary

Crossroadsstaffing seeks a Litigation Associate in Santa Barbara with 1+ year of civil litigation experience. You will draft pleadings, motions, and trial materials, and handle discovery with a collaborative team of attorneys and professionals.

You will conduct legal research, assist with court appearances, and work toward independently managing all stages of litigation while coordinating with estate planning, business, and real estate teams to serve clients.

Qualifications

• Juris Doctor from an accredited law school.
• Active CA Bar member in good standing.
• 1+ year of experience in general civil litigation.

Responsibilities

• Draft pleadings, motions, memos, and trial materials for civil cases.
• Draft, propound, review, respond to, manage, and conduct civil discovery.

Job Description

Our Civil Litigation Groups practice includes general civil, business, real estate, contract, tort, insurance, and probate litigation. It frequently handles complex and high-stakes matters at all stages of litigation, including jury trials. This is an exceptional opportunity to work with a dynamic firm that values collaboration, professional growth, and client satisfaction. Litigation attorneys with zero to three years of experience are encouraged to apply. Collaborate with a team of attorneys and other professionals to deliver comprehensive civil litigation solutions to clients. Draft all types of civil litigation papers, including pleadings, motions, memos, and trial preparation materials. Draft, propound, review, respond to, manage, and conduct civil discovery, including written discovery, document productions, and depositions. Assist with and appear for court appearances, including status conferences, hearings, and trials. Conduct thorough and creative legal research. Grow into managing all stages of litigation independently. Work with attorneys in other departments, including estate planning, business, real estate, and employment, to offer counsel on litigation-adjacent issues in an integrated approach to client service. Interact with clients to further the objectives of litigation, address concerns, and offer strategic advice. Skills Required
