Job Title: Litigation Associate Attorney

Job Type: Full - Time (On-site)

Location: North Palm Beach, FL

Overview:

Our client is seeking an experienced Litigation Associate Attorney with a minimum of 7 years of Civil Litigation experience to join their growing team. The ideal candidate can independently manage a caseload from inception through final resolution, communicate effectively with clients, third parties, and collaborate closely with attorneys, paralegals, and administrative staff in a fast-paced environment.

Compensation and Benefits:

• $135,000 - $165,000 per year
• 160 hours PTO after probationary
• Remote after 1 year

What You'll Do:

• Case Management & Strategy: Independently manage a diverse civil litigation caseload from initial consultation and strategy through discovery, mediation, trial, and final resolution. Develop case strategies, identify legal and factual issues, assess risk, provide practical recommendations, and own all deadlines, court requirements, and discovery obligations.
• Drafting & Court Filings: Prepare, draft, and review pleadings, motions, petitions, memoranda of law, discovery requests/responses, and retainers. Handle e-filings in Florida state courts via the Florida Courts E-Filing Portal, prioritizing emergency matters like guardianship proceedings and injunctions.
• Hearings, Depositions & Trials: Prepare witnesses and clients; lead or participate in depositions, hearings, arbitrations, mediations, evidentiary proceedings, and trials; and lead settlement negotiations while advising clients of risks and outcomes.
• Communication & Delegation: Maintain proactive communication with clients, opposing counsel, court personnel, financial/tax/care professionals, and third parties. Delegate assignments to paralegals and staff, provide clear direction, and review work products while retaining ultimate responsibility.
• Firm & Practice Requirements: Meet the minimum annual requirement of 1,600 billable hours and 200 non-billable hours (1,800 total). Monitor retainer/escrow balances, pursue ongoing training (including Trusts and Estates and Elder Law), and participate in professional networking and business development to build an individual book of business. Assess or coordinate appellate issues as needed.

Requirements:

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.
• Active member in good standing with The Florida Bar (U.S. District Court admission in Florida preferred).
• Minimum of 7 years of civil litigation experience, including managing matters through multiple stages.
• Demonstrated expertise with pleadings, motion practice, discovery, depositions, hearings, mediations, and trial preparation.
• Exceptional legal research, writing, analytical, advocacy, organizational, and case-management skills.
• Sound professional judgment, initiative, and a strong commitment to client service.
• Proficiency in Microsoft 365 (Word, Outlook, Excel, Teams).
• Experience with legal tech preferred (firm uses Clio Manage, Clio Grow, NetDocuments, Adobe Acrobat/Kofax, and LexisNexis; training provided).
