Job summary

Parker Placements NY, Inc. is assisting a New York law firm in finding a lateral 4th or 5th year Litigation Associate.

The role focuses on General Commercial Litigation, Insurance and/or Reinsurance disputes, with emphasis on motions, depositions, and trial participation.

Qualifications

• JD from ABA-approved law school required.
• 4–5 years of litigation experience in General Commercial Litigation, Insurance and/or Reinsurance.
• Argue and defend motions, take and defend depositions, participate at trial.
• Excellent research, writing and analytical skills.
• Self-starter with strong client management.
• Admitted to practice in New York (active in good standing).
• Ability to work independently.

Requirements

• JD and strong academic credentials from a top, ABA-approved law school.
• 4 to 5 years of litigation experience at a law firm, handling General Commercial Litigation, Insurance and/or Reinsurance Disputes.
• Strong experience in all phases of litigation including arguing and defending motions, taking and defending depositions, and participation at trial.
• Excellent research, writing, and analytical skills.
• A self-starter with great client management skills.
• Admitted to practice in New York (active member in good standing).
• Ability to work independently.
• The approximate annual base salary for this position is $275,000 depending upon the qualifications of the individual, and level/years of relevant experience. They also offer a discretionary year-end bonus.
