Job summary

Neufeld, O'Leary & Giusto, a prestigious NYC-area firm, seeks an experienced civil litigator to join a small-team feel with a broad commercial, real estate, and estate practice.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of civil litigation experience, incl. at least 2+ years in real estate or trusts/estate litigation
• Experience handling cases from inception to completion independently
• Detail-oriented with entrepreneurial mindset
• Strong written communication and research skills

Responsibilities

• Appear in court for litigation (virtually and in-person)
• Draft motions, pleadings, discovery demands
• Develop and implement litigation and negotiation strategies
• Legal research
• Respond to discovery requests
• Communicate with clients, opposing counsel, court personnel
• Represent the firm at local networking events

This opportunity includes the feel of a small law firm, yet have the chance to explore a diverse variety of law within a sizable practice. We have developed and maintained a respected track record for counseling clients on commercial and personal matters. Our practice has a strong focus on commercial litigation, estate and trust planning and litigation, and real estate transactions and litigation. • PTO: 3 weeks and 11 firm-observed holidays
• Monthly allowance for private medical insurance

Job Responsibilities To Include:

• Appearing in court for litigation (virtually and in-person)

Required Background & Skills:

• 3+ years of civil litigation experience, including at least 2+ years of real estate litigation and/or trusts and estate litigation or administration
• Experience handling litigation cases from inception to completion independently
• Detail-oriented with an entrepreneurial personality
• Superb written communication and research skills

Preferred Experience:

• Trial/hearing experience
• Surrogate court experience
• Has an existing book of business
