Our client, a nationally recognized law firm, is seeking a Labor & Employment Associate with 3-5 years of experience to join its Los Angeles office.
This is an excellent opportunity for an attorney seeking to build a sophisticated employment litigation practice. The successful candidate will work on a broad range of employment law matters, gain significant client exposure, and collaborate with an established labor and employment team handling complex workplace disputes and counseling matters.
Responsibilities
- Represent employers in a variety of employment litigation matters
- Handle all phases of litigation, including:
- Case assessment and strategy
- Discovery
- Depositions
- Motion practice
- Mediation and settlement negotiations
- Trial preparation
- Draft pleadings, motions, briefs, and other litigation-related documents
- Conduct legal research and provide practical legal analysis
- Advise clients regarding employment law compliance and risk management issues
- Collaborate with partners and clients on litigation strategy and workforce-related matters
- Manage multiple matters and deadlines in a fast-paced environment
Qualifications
- J.D. from an accredited law school
- Active membership in good standing with the California Bar
- 3-5 years of employment litigation experience
- Experience handling a broad range of labor and employment matters
- Strong legal research, writing, and advocacy skills
- Excellent interpersonal and communication abilities
- Strong organizational and case management skills
- Ability to work independently while contributing to a collaborative team environment
- Outstanding academic and professional credentials
Preferred Qualifications
- Traditional labor law experience is a plus, but not required
- Experience advising employers on workplace compliance and labor relations matters
