Job summary

Perez Morris is seeking an experienced Litigation Associate to support our expanding practice. The role may be based in our Columbus or Toledo, Ohio office and focuses on commercial and employment litigation.

Ideal candidates have 2–4 years of civil litigation experience and an active Ohio Bar license, with the ability to independently manage a diverse caseload, work collaboratively with the team, and develop client relationships.

Qualifications

• Associate with 2-4 years of experience handling civil litigation matters.
• Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.
• Active license in good standing with the Ohio Bar.
• Demonstrated ability to handle high-pressure cases and manage complex litigation matters.
• Commitment to client service and ethical legal practice.
• Exceptional attention to detail, strong writing and legal research skills, and a strong work ethic.
• Entrepreneurial growth mindset for client development and practice management.

Responsibilities

• Independently manage an assigned case load of complex litigation matters from inception through resolution, meeting deadlines while maintaining high standards of the legal practice.
• Appear regularly in court conferences, arbitrations, mediations, and depositions.
• Lead all aspects of litigation strategy, including drafting pleadings, drafting and responding to written discovery, preparing motions, negotiating settlements, and preparing witnesses for trial.
• Serve as a primary point of contact for clients, providing regular case updates, strategic assessments, and litigation plans throughout the matter lifecycle.
• Provide sound legal advice and strategic counsel to clients at all stages of the litigation process.

Perez Morris is currently seeking an experienced, detail-oriented Litigation Associate to support our expanding practice. This position may be based in either our Columbus or Toledo, Ohio office.

This position focuses on a broad range of commercial and employment litigation matters and is ideal for an attorney with 2-4 years of civil litigation experience who is ready to independently manage a diverse caseload, contribute to client relationships, and grow their practice in a collaborative, team-oriented environment.
