BizCap in New York, NY is seeking a full-time Litigation and Collections Counsel to handle collections litigation, contract disputes, and other legal matters in a fintech environment. • Represent BizCap in a variety of litigation matters, including collections litigation, contract disputes, regulatory issues, and other legal proceedings.
• Manage and oversee an active caseload including discovery, motion practice, trials and more.
• Oversee judgment enforcement procedures, ensuring compliance with all applicable laws and regulations.
• Provide legal counsel and guidance to various business units within the company, helping to identify and mitigate legal risks.
• Collaborate with external counsel as necessary.
• Stay up-to-date on relevant legal developments, including fintech and financial services regulations, and communicate their implications to the leadership team.

Position Overview:

BizCap is seeking a full-time Litigation and Collections Counsel to join our team. In this role, you'll play a key part in handling litigation matters, primarily collections litigation and judgment enforcement, as well as some general corporate and contracts work. This is an on-site role in our NYC office.

Key Responsibilities

• Represent BizCap in a variety of litigation matters, including collections litigation, contract disputes, regulatory issues, and other legal proceedings.
• Manage and oversee an active caseload including discovery, motion practice, trials and more.
• Oversee judgment enforcement procedures, ensuring compliance with all applicable laws and regulations.
• Provide legal counsel and guidance to various business units within the company, helping to identify and mitigate legal risks.
• Collaborate with external counsel as necessary.
• Stay up-to-date on relevant legal developments, including fintech and financial services regulations, and communicate their implications to the leadership team.

Qualifications

• Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school and admission to the bar in the relevant jurisdiction.
