Job summary

MCC is seeking a Lithographic Press Operator to manufacture printed labels and monitor press quality and conditions. The role requires operating Komori 6 Color sheetfed presses, performing makeready and adjustments, and maintaining color accuracy to meet a high standard of quality.

Candidates should be able to read job specs, work in a team, and support junior press assistants. This is a full-time, on-site position with a comprehensive benefits package and competitive compensation.

Qualifications

• Must be able to work in a team environment and read/understand measurements.
• Ability to communicate in English and follow written instructions.
• Physically capable of standing, lifting up to 50 pounds, and performing manual adjustments.

Responsibilities

• Operate Komori 6 Color sheetfed presses safely and efficiently.
• Complete makeready and adjust press components (feeder, delivery, suction grippers, guides, feed wheels, tapes, cams).
• Remove/replace worn rollers and adjust pressure between rollers.
• Wash blankets and clean ink distribution rollers and ink fountains.
• Make color/register adjustments to meet quality specs before production.
• Read and follow job specifications for setup materials.
• Instruct and guide junior press assistants.

TheLithographic Press Operator is an essential member of the team, responsible for the manufacturing of printed labels while continuously monitoring label quality and press conditions.

Responsibilities:

• The Printing press operator is responsible for the safe and efficient operation of our Komori 6 Color sheetfed presses.
• Complete makeready, adjusting press components, such as feeder and delivery mechanisms, suction grippers, guides, feed wheels, jogging devices, tapes, and cams, using hand tools.
• Removes and replaces worn rollers and adjusts pressure between rollers of press, using hand tools.
• Wash blankets and clean ink and ink distributing rollers and ink fountains, using ink solvent and cleaning mechanism on press.
• Makes necessary color or register corrections and/or press adjustments prior to production run to meet and maintain the quality specifications of the work.
• Requires comprehensive knowledge of offset presswork procedures and materials.
• Ability to read and follow job specifications to determine press set-up materials needed to run the job successfully.
• Skill to follow instructions to operate equipment safely and produce the desired product.
• Ability to make adjustments to feeder and feed board (e.g., ability to adjust suctions and blast front and side guides and the timing of the head stops).
• Skill in performing routine operational maintenance and minor repairs to equipment.
• Ability to instruct and provide guidance to junior level press assistants

Qualifications:

• Must be able to work in a team environment. Ability to make and read measurements.
• Ability to communicate in English -read, understand and carry out written instructions.
• Ability to understand verbal instructions.
• The physical demands require standing, using hands to feel and touch; reach with arms and hands; talk and hear.
• This position requires frequent walking.
• Occasionally employee is required to climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl.
• Must be able to regularly lift or move up to 50 pounds.
• Continuous eye concentration.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule based on business needs
• Other duties as assigned
• Minimum 2 years previous experience setting up and running sheet fed presses
• Previous experience in the operation of a sheet fed press equipment
