Job summary

Lilac Solutions, Inc. in Oakland, CA, is seeking a Process Engineer to design and conduct experiments on Lilac’s proprietary ion exchange system and support scale-up of its technology.

You will join a cross-functional team to improve performance of mini pilot scale lithium extraction modules through rigorous experimentation and data-driven refinement. The role involves operating process equipment, collecting and analyzing data, and documenting results in technical reports.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in chemical engineering or related field required.
• Familiar with laboratory equipment and safety procedures.
• Strong data analysis and interpretation skills.
• Excellent communication and collaboration with engineers, chemists, and operators.
• Ability to pass a respirator fit test and handle physical tasks as needed.

Responsibilities

• Design, fabricate, and operate pilot-scale lithium extraction modules.
• Develop designs to improve efficiency of the technology.
• Create design documents such as material balances, PFDs, and P&IDs.
• Automate process control and drive continual improvement of lithium extraction skids.
• Travel up to 25% to commission and operate plants domestically and internationally.
