Job summary

TrulyHired is seeking an Instructional Literacy Tutor for K-2 at Ravenna City Schools to support teachers in enhancing literacy instruction. The role includes providing professional development, direct instruction, and developing coaching plans to improve teacher capacity and student outcomes.

Candidates should have a valid teaching license, five years of teaching experience, and training in structured literacy, along with compliance with FBI background checks and drug-free workplace rules.

Qualifications

Instructional Literacy Tutor K-2 (50% Coaching and 50% Direct Instruction)

Ravenna City Schools

184 Day Contract beginning with 2026-27 School Year

Reports to Director of Curriculum and Assessment, Building Principal

Preferred Qualifications:

• Teaching License, Educational Administration or appropriate related field
• Five years of successful teaching experience; prefer experience teaching elementary at multiple grade levels; prefer experience in coaching and mentoring
• Trained and knowledgeable in structured literacy; knowledgeable about current Dyslexia Support Law(s)

Job Summary:

• Support teachers in the implementation of all elements of Reading/English Language Arts instruction, including disciplinary literacy
• Provide job-embedded professional development for teachers that includes: in-class consultation, model lessons, co‑teaching, collaborative planning, individual and group coaching, feedback, observations and/or walk-throughs
• Develop coaching plans for teachers to improve teacher capacity and ensure student improvement
• Provide ongoing professional development for teachers and administrators that supports evidenced‑based practices to enhance literacy instruction and assessment and supports building leadership team and teacher‑based team instructional goals
• Work with administrators and teachers to align instruction and teaching practices with the ODE learning standards, the adopted curriculum materials and the district's priorities
• Support administrators and teachers through collaborative analysis of assessments, student work and other student performance data to analyze current practice and identify ways to inform instruction
• Provide direct instruction to students as needed, per building principal

Additional Qualifications:

• Complete a clean FBI‑BCI background check
• Comply with drug‑free workplace rules and board policies
• Employee is expected to follow all policies and procedures in accordance with the ESC of Northeast Ohio and client district assignments.
