Job description

What You’ll Need
  • Strong negotiation and communication skills — comfortable on the phone, able to explain complex terms simply, and skilled at advocating for your client while preserving relationships.
  • Proven ability to transact at high volume, stay organized, and hit deadlines in a fast-paced, metrics-driven environment.
  • High ownership mindset and comfort working cross-functionally to resolve issues (title, inspections, HOA, lender, internal ops, etc.).

Location

We’re looking for team members who are enthusiastic about an in-office culture — people who want to build alongside others and not from a distance. This role is based in one of our talent hubs where we welcome everyone 5 days a week with the requirement of Mo, Tu, Th, Fri.

About the Role

At Opendoor, we’re rebuilding how people buy and sell homes, with more certainty, more choice, and less friction in the most important financial decision of their lives. Opendoor 2.0 is about focus, execution, and delivering real value for homeowners and those striving to become homeowners.

Our Resale Listing Partners are licensed real estate professionals who serve as the single point of contact with buyer’s agents from offer through close on Opendoor-owned homes. They negotiate on behalf of our seller (Opendoor), coordinate with internal teams and title partners, and drive smooth, on-time closings while delivering a standout agent and buyer experience.

We’re building a centralized, in-person Listing Partner team in Miami or Phoenix as part of Opendoor’s move toward being an in-office default company. As a Listing Partner, you’ll focus on learning our playbook, mastering our tools, and building strong negotiation and communication skills. You’ll be supported with training, clear processes, and coaching so you can ramp into handling a high volume of listings and contracts with confidence.

What You’ll Do
  • Own offer-to-close communications with buyer’s agents on assigned Opendoor listings, serving as their primary point of contact throughout the transaction.
  • Negotiate offers and terms (price, concessions, repairs, timelines) within Opendoor guidelines to balance conversion, margin, and customer experience.
  • Oversee transactions to close by deadline through coordinating with internal teams (pricing, homes/renovations, transaction coordinators, title/escrow, brokerage) and external partners to clear issues and keep files moving.
  • Manage repair negotiations by reviewing inspection reports, leveraging our internal tools and workflows, and presenting clear, data-backed counters to buyer’s agents.
  • Maintain high-quality documentation in our internal systems (offer details, counter terms, repair decisions, key milestones) so others can quickly understand the status of each file.
  • Monitor portfolio health for your assigned listings, paying special attention to long-DOM homes and higher-risk transactions, and escalating when additional support or strategy is needed.
  • Deliver excellent agent and buyer experiences through proactive communication, expectation setting, and timely follow-up via phone, email, and text.
  • Adopt and champion new tools and processes (e.g., negotiation models, automation, AI-powered workflows, TC support) designed to increase both your productivity and deal quality.
Bonus Points If You Have
  • Active real estate salesperson license in any state (or ability to obtain within a defined timeline prior to start date, subject to business needs and brokerage requirements).
  • Experience listing and/or selling homes.
  • Experience in residential real estate (e.g., listing agent, buyer’s agent, transaction coordinator, or similar client-facing role), or directly transferable experience in high-volume negotiations or transaction management.
  • Familiarity with MLS, transaction management platforms, and CRM tools.
  • Prior experience working in a centralized or inside sales environment (phone- and email-heavy).
  • Comfort using data and tooling (reports, dashboards, AI/automation) to inform decisions and prioritize your time.
How We Work
  • Schedule: Full-time, with flexibility needed for peak volume periods; weekend coverage is required.
  • Collaboration: You’ll work closely with other Listing Partners, Transaction Coordinators, Pricing, Homes, Title & Escrow, and Brokerage to create a seamless end-to-end experience.
  • Performance: We look at a balanced scorecard including conversion, fallthroughs, negotiation outcomes, title attach, pend-to-close time, and customer experience, with coaching and support to help you grow over time.
Why Join Opendoor
  • Opportunity to be part of an evolving resale team that is core to Opendoor’s strategy and growth.
  • Performance-based incentive pay aligned to outcomes you directly influence.
  • Training, tools, and coaching to help you advance to higher levels of impact and responsibility.
  • Benefits package including health coverage and other company programs (details provided during the interview process).
